The Change Your Latitude- 57* North Open Water Challenge 1K course is confirmed and we are taking registrations for participants of all ages!
1K Entry fee for 8-18 age group (non-masters) swimmers $40. Over 18 (masters level swimmers) $40 and must be a USMS register masters swimmer or purchase a $15 USMS one day membership. For insurance reasons day of registrations for those 18 and over masters swimmers are NOT allowed. Please register your one day USMS event membership before July 31st.
The 1K course will follow the shoreline from John Brown's Beach around the point and south thru the channel to the start/finish line at Mt Edgecumbe High School Ramp. The start of the 1K race will be approximately time to coincide with the finish of the 10K racers. Start of the 1K is planned for 10:00 am.

1K racers will be escorted by a flotilla of kayakers and a safety boat or two. Race organizers assume that most participants will finish their swims in 30 minutes or less. Wetsuits will be required for all participants under 18 years of age, those 18 and over who wish to swim in the non-wetsuit division must comply with the requirements laid out in the Safety Rules section.
