2012 Search for Monongy - Pittsburgh, PA

I've looked and looked, and I don't see any water temperature data for the Allegheny near our swim. The closest point where I found temperature data is at "Emsworth Lower Pool" on the Ohio River, which look to be about 5 miles downstream from where we'll be. I've looked and looked, and I don't see any water temperature data within the links posted here. I guess we'll just have to wait until swim day to find out... I was in the river last week. If I had to guess, I'd say it was upper 70's then. Likely to be warmer now.

But don't trust me entirely! If we get there and the river is cold, it's not my fault.

The temperature of the Allegheny River where the swim event takes place varies as it is a moving body of water . . . In the past years, the water temps have been 79 - 82 degrees at the time of the swim. The links to the statistical data were an attempt to allow you to formulate your own conclusions.

There's always next year. No way Katherine will give up on this great event. It's in her blood. She does a phenomenal job! Definitely plan for 2013.
