edit: He's made it :applaud:
Irishman Steve Redmond is near completion of his Molokai Channel swim. He's 2 miles out with the current now, finally, in his favor. Go Steve!
If he completes Molokai, he'll have swum 6 of the 'Oceans Seven', with only the 12 mile Tsugaru Strait remaining.

Most Molokai updates are occurring on his facebook page:

Off and on, they are updating Molokai progress via their SPOT:

Much more info (e.g Steve Redmond's Cook Strait swim last week) is available
on fellow Irishman Donal Buckley's website http://www.loneswimmer.com
Steve, Donal and many other very accomplished OW swimmers live on Ireland's south coast, near Cork. http://sandycoveswimmers.com/
Go Steve!
I'm glad to hear that he made it this time. Steve has had quite the busy schedule... now, only Tsugaru to go. I wonder what his timeline for that swim is?
I think it will be much sooner than the North Channel warms up enough for Penny to make an attempt there.... plus, she is attempting Cuba to Key West in June.
Smart money is on on Mr Redmond to win the Ocean's Seven race.
yeah, what is that quality? endurance, guts, grit, perseverance, heart? whatever it is, if you look at his various swims, it seems integral, and he has it in god-like proportions.

One has to do something with one's life.
Or it could be the Nutso gene.
:)
Huge congratulations to Steve!
I just listened to Stephen on (Irish) morning radio, he's sound remarkably fresh. I've taken to calling him the Irish Water Monster, he makes me proud to be alive.
