I still have my number from the Chesapeake Bay swim on my arm. Apparently the permanent marker acted like SPF 100 sunscreen while the rest of my body burn to a crisp. So when the marker washed off, the pale skin where the number was remained.
The rest of the summer I spent the money on Waterman's sunscreen and was able to avoid another bad burn. But the number (or rather the white skin where the number was) never blended in.
Any ideas on fixing this? It seems like I might have jammed myself up here since the burned skin turned freckly and the white skin is still fairly clear.
My concern at this point is my vanity. The number was fun for awhile but now it's the end of October and enough is enough. It's also another arrow in my wife's "get thee to a dermatologist" quiver, but that seems a bit premature.
Will they give me the same number next year? That would simplify matters somewhat. Or should I wear a full wetsuit regardless of the water temperature? No more burn. Or perhaps Golden Nugget can print an ad in permanent marker on my back and I can display their ad in a reverse-tan on the beach the rest of the summer.
