smeltgirl,
I'm a member of the host team and swim in Morse Reservoir nearly every weekend between Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day. On average the water temperature should be about 7-10 degrees cooler than last year's 10K, probably in the mid-high 70's (74-78).
As far as whether or not you're ready for that distance, I had only one swim longer than a 5K - a 10K in 2007 - when I completed this same 25K in 2008. I also swam in last year's 10K in Noblesville. I consider myself more of a short course swimmer so the training for the 25K was intense for me. I checked the 25K off my list so I'm opting for a relay this summer.
Good luck if you choose to swim it. We'll see you in Noblesville.
