I was swimming in a Pennsylvvania lake last week. I think it was about 58 degrees, but I'm not sure.
If it was 55? Then I've met my temperature tolerance goals. If it was 62, I'm still a ways off.
What do other OW people do for temperature measurement? Just go to a hardware store?

Infrared thermometer.
Slightly more expensive. But very useful. Check temp from a distance. This is what's used in English Channel swimming for hourly checks.
