I'm entered in the Governors Island swim this coming August 1. I was wondering if anyone out there has swum this event before and can offer tips and/or pointers. I'm most concerned about how the heck to get to Governors Island and, of course, the conditions.
I will be swimming also; I hear from another swimmer that some of the Pro Swim participants will be swimming the 2- mile event, so the field could be unusually strong. Not sure if this is true, but anyone can check the NYC swim website, and look at the participants list.
