hey if anyone has any info on the spring harbor 10k would love to know some info. More along the lines of people who have already done it and can give some info on how well the race is run and the feeding stations situation.:)

I sent the organizers an email asking about the 10k swim. In past years, the 10k competitive swim has been on Saturday and the 1-, 2-, and 3-mile community swims have been on Sunday.
I do remember last year's advisory: "It isn't the distance, it's the cold and the dark and the fishes..."

Last year this swim was a championship swim, and many swam it. I expect more discussion will occur as the date draws nearer.
I did the swim last year and loved it. The majority of the course took place in a sheltered harbor but there was a portion outside of the harbor that got pretty rough..........the best kind of open water swimming in my opinion. My question would be whether or not a 10k will be offered this year? The date listed for the 10k is from last year, as well as all the information on the 10k (it was national championships, so I could see it being a one-time distance). However, all the information on the shorter distances is update for 2010, leading me to believe that a 10k will not be offered this year.

hey Mallory your so right grr I really want to do a 10k this year do you know or any others that are going on in the mid west? Was thinking of the Indiana one but might be too soon. Do you know of any other 10k that might be later on? If not I would really like to talk with you about my training to get your take on if I am ready to do a 10k in June, I think thats when the Indiana one is.
