Full is 12.6 miles, but there will apparently be relays and shorter options, to be announced soon. Not sure if you HAVE to stop at the indicated spots for the long swim, that makes it easier and harder in a way.

What's the water like there at that time of year?
Likely mid 60s, give or take. September is the warmest, starts to get a bit colder after that.
It's also likely against current, and goes around one harbor breakwater/entrance. It will be interesting to see how they handle that
