this will be my first 10k and I want to know what others have done to train, my training right now is 2 swims a week each a 3miles, then 2 a week each time I swim 7miles. I also do some weight lifting to for the arms. The other question is the race said you need to have a feeder. So how should I train the person that is doing the feedings, Do the feeding stations get crowed? then is the best time to feed, during how many miles. If any one has any info to give me I would be so happy!
  • guess I didnt quite word that right I swim a total of 4xa week 2 of those are 3 miles and the other 2 in that same week are 7miles all in the same week is that enough? or should i throw in 5 swims.I do go home right away and ride on my bike trainer to mabe 2twice a week. Really want to get a little faster though so should I cut back some of my yards or keep it the same.? yes this was clear to most people, no one would be stupid enough to try a 10K on 2 x 3 miles a week. couple questions...are you doing all freestyle? breathing pattern? 2/4/6 beat kick? more info would be appreciated.

thanks cantwait4bike I do all free style I breath both sides. Mostly I breath ever other stroke so I switch both sides every other stroke for most of my swim. but at the end I breath ever stroke 4times left, 4times to the right. My kick pattern could use some work as I feel it not as even as I would like it to be so any training for that would be great. I use the kick board at the end of my short swims put feel like I need some other stuff to do.
