I saw Chaos post in the other forum about swimming that in 2010. Has anyone here done all three (not necessarily in the same year)? In my slow, but steady immersion in to open water swimming, I have considered targeting one of these three in the next five years or so. For some reason, the Manhattan swim intrigues me the most. Any thoughts?
One of the very important practice elements of open water swimmers is to not take off your goggles during pool swimming practice. While nearly 100% of pool swimmers regularly place their goggles lenses on their forehead in between sets during pool workouts, this is not a practice that is recommended for established/experienced marathon swimmers who learn to adjust their goggles by facial movement in the pool and open water. By constantly adjusting your goggles during pool workouts, you tend not to learn how to adjust your goggles "on the fly" which will take time, assuming you are wearing goggle that fit well in the first place. Good luck.
