How to find open water swimming (Cincinnati)

Does anyone have suggestions about how to find places to train in open water? I live in Cincinnati, and a number of our parks have lakes, but the parks administration told me that swimming is strictly prohibited in all their lakes. Is there a resource out there? A strategy for finding a place? Tom Bartman tvbartman@hotmail.com

I get up to Caesars Creek quite often in the summer to swim and bike with the CincyExpress group. I believe Team in Training also uses it as a home base. There are a set of buoy's that make a up 1/4 mile lap. Water is no better or worse than East Fork. Between 8:30 and 9AM it can get quite crowded, sometimes 30 to 40 triathletes weaving like drunken sailors around the course, so you have to pay attention. I'm hoping to do some open water events this summer. Hope to see you out there. David
