I've been experimenting with using the GPS program on my iPhone (motionX gps) during OW training swims. I find it interesting, as you can see how straight you are swimming (sort of), get your distance and speed, and it plots your completed course out on a google map. More of a novelty than a training aid, I suppose. I have tried two different waterproof cases (otterbox and another one i can't remember), neither of which was user friendly for swimmers. I can't find one small enough to stick in my suit or one with a good enough strap to wrap around my leg. The best system I have found so far is two ziplock bags. Has enyone else experimented with this?

Wonder if a scuba diving store might have something. Also don't know if there is a Kifer swim shop by you but they have allot of stuff. Wish I had more info. So cool that you can do all that on phone!! Have a blackberry and cant do that kinda stuff. Guess I will keep wishing I could:)
This is a related question. My husband would like to be able to keep better track of me while I am out swimming. We typically try to go on vacations where I can do some long swims, and he gets nervous when I'm gone more than an hour or so. When he's tried to look for something that would allow him to know where I am, the things that come up are some creepy surveillance, how to track your cheating spouse devices.
Any other options that anyone knows of??
