Big Shoulders 2009

Ok, so the more they email me, the more I get nervous about the water temp. Last year it was 69 which stung to get in, but it made for a nice swimming temp. By the end, though, my fingers and toes felt a little numb, but that could have been tired (??). But this year, it could be up to 10 degrees colder?! What to do when the coolest water I can find here in Cincinnati is 80?

Personally, I figure that if no one cared enough about the outcome of Big Shoulders to protest at the time, I am in no position to get worked up about it now. You are incorrect. The discrepancy about the buoy was brought up immediately to the race director. He failed to act (as some have suggested, perhaps because he felt like there was nothing he could do). Besides, someone going 56:21 in the race is possible. I mean there has got to be 100-200 swimmers in the world who could do it. Of course Andy Seibt is no where close to being one of the top 100 OW swimmers in the world, but drawing that conclusion takes a little bit of research. Honestly it took a few days for the pure ridiculousness of this to set in. Question: will Andy compete in the event next year?
