Had our annual 2 mile Pier to Pier swim in Hermosa/Manhattan Beach. Although there was a bandit that (if he started with the group) who beat everyone by around a minute, the top five guys were separated by 30 seconds in a pretty slow year (heard there was a decent current). Top guy was 45:33, 5 was 45:57. Now that's close
It was Paul Huddle who started with the group and pulled away despite the oncoming current.

Whoever he was he turned it on at the end of the pier and added another 100 or so yards on the boys
