Full Body Non-WS for 10k

I am planning on doing my first 10k next summer. The race I would like to do is in cold (67 F) water. Does anyone know if the Nike Hydra full-length suit (poly/lycra) is legal for 10k swims? I do not want any competative advantage, just to keep from freezing. Thanks!

To the best of my knowledge (and I have been following the ongoin swimsuit issue as a member of the FINA Technical Open Water Swimming Committee), the Nike swimsuit that you refer to was not on either of the approved FINA lists (see www.fina.org/.../index.php. Because USMS follows the FINA rulings on swimsuits, this would indicate that the Nike swimsuit is not legal for USMS or USA Swimming competitions. However, if the events that you wish to compete in are non-USMS or USAS-sanctioned events, then the Nike swimsuit should be acceptable. The best resource to make this determination is the race director of the events you wish to compete in. Good luck.
