I'm trying to get a basis of comparison for the Aquafest this weekend in Vermont.
Does anyone have a sense of what the water temperature was last year at Lake Champlain?
A friend of mine measured at Lake Memphramagog (sp?) and got 62 and 68. Yikes!
One was at the shore, and one temp was out on a boat. I'm just hoping it gets warmer, or I might, gasp, actually have to think wetsuit... I'm not sure what my personal cut-off is but I know when I swam in 64 in Lake Geneva, I sure needed a wetsuit, and even with, it was breathtakingly cold.

i'm not certain, but i would estimate the temp at champlain last year to have been between 73 and 75.
wow... there is a huge difference between 62 and 68.

if the water temp is 62, i'll equip my kayak with warm perpetuem to feed, and take a small feeding every 15-20 minutes. i don't think i'll need to for this swim, but it would be an opportunity to practice the 7 second pit stop.... and also find out how my stomach tolerates warm perpetuem for 4+ hours.
