Okay, being a chef for life has something to do with this.
As I swim I am always taking a little water into my nose. I have noticed as I cruise over and through different types of weed beds , bass beds, clear water and near wooded shores I can smell the difference underwater.
I also know now that I have allergies to some sea weeds...
The other day I could smell the Bass before I reached them... there they were , about five feet down ,just suspended a foot over their dished out beds.
Some weed beds smell so strong I want to hold my nose.:fish2:
I wonder if we have some electric receptors like pike do that we don't know about.

My sense of smell is also acute, and I also sense very different smells in different OW terrain. I have also smelled fish, but I always thought I was smelling a dead fish in the area. Maybe I am smelling live ones, who knows?
