The open water season in New England is off to a chilly start. Our local pond here in Maine where we train is only 62 deg, and the rain and clouds have made for some bone chilling workouts.
Quick race report: the Narrow River 1 mile swim in Narragansett, RI was held on Sat., June 27. Very well organized, scenic, clean water. A bit short of a mile looking at the times, but lots of fun. I watched my kids while my wife swam, then jumped in after she finished, making our combined time about 39 mins.
If anyone is looking to have an escape from the gloomy weather or the black line at the bottom of the pool, SwimVacation has openings on its November open water swimming trip to the British Virgin Islands.
