I'm getting ready for the 10-miler, although skipping practice this morning is not going to help that! At this point, I am feeling woefully underprepared after a trip of 10-days in Korea, and a son who got me up at 3 a.m. this morning because his jet lag is so severe right now. We just got back yesterday, at around 4 in the morning, and I am hoping to get in the water today--but a 7 am practice just couldn't happen...
I am trying to think of our vacation as "taper" since otherwise, I panic a bit about the swim. I swam in a terrific pool in Seoul--30 meter outdoor at our hotel, almost to myself every morning. Of course, pools in Korea are kept at hot tub temperatures so it was no preparation for the cold in Vermont.
And the concept of personal space is very different...
Now I'm torn about how much to do or not do before the end of July. My husband thinks I should do a big swim just to mentally prepare myself but nothing has been decided yet. I think the bottom line is that I will go, and finish, but be merely slow and steady.
And no wetsuit.
