Finally got the first OW swim of the year in last night at Lake in the Hills. Water was 66 - felt pretty good without a wetsuit. Only about 3 of us without wetsuits. Nice turnout for the first Wednesday nighter.
Can't wait until next week!!
Great! Glad you're in for the season. Feels wonderful, doesn't it. :)
... when some girl (I would definitely not say lady!) grabbed my ankle, pulled me back and proceeded to swim right over me. ...
My question is: Is this normal in OW swimming?
I think it is normal to be run over, kicked, and so forth. I have endured a lot of "handy" swimmers. Body contact isn't necessarily intentional; they could think you were just a big fish or piece of flotsam - a barrier to their forward progress.
