My second OW swim was last weekend. It was a .75 first, and then a 1.5 mile. A question b/c I do not consider myself an OW person:
The .75 was a water start about 50 yards out from the beach. It was an overcast day 60 deg and the water temp was 70. Great :) No problem. I lined up right next to the far right buoy as I DO NOT like the "rugby" approach to the start. I had been swimming for a good 2-3 minutes when some girl (I would definitely not say lady!) grabbed my ankle, pulled me back and proceeded to swim right over me. I was not happy. I got a look at her suit, the caps were all the same, and off she went to piss someone else off I'm sure.
My question is: Is this normal in OW swimming?
If it is, I can certainly get into the spirit, and sprint up to catch such a person and proceed to kick their a#! However, that doesn't seem like good sportsmanship either!
:lmao:
I was really surprised.
