I am a member of the SwimVacation team and was on their last trip in Dec 2008 with a fellow longhorn of yours. They are actually on a trip right now...i was supposed to be there but my son got sick the day before i was to leave! It's a fabulous experience...you can follow their blog at their site here. They are currently on their first full day. The trips involve 2 swims per day, ranging from 1 - 2 miles each. The boat is fantastic, and because you live on board you are always at the swim site. the captain and guides work together to find the best spots with the best conditions that day. it allows you to really see a lot in an efficient and pleasant way. food and crew are first rate, Hopper (SwimVacation president) is an open water champion and really knows what he's doing. there are stroke and technique clinics with underwater video and review session on board. in between swims there is plenty of time for play, or site seeing / land excursions or kicking back in the sun. it really is an amazing time. can't believe i'm not there...my bags are still standing by the door! hope that helps!
  • Next week after the state meet, I'm going to Mexico to swim in warm , non clorinated water!

By the way longhorn, there will be another SwimVacation trip this early winter, either late Nov or early Dec. I'll be there on that one! Heather
