Thanks for posting that here. I am a shark conservationist trying to raise shark education to the general public and involved with similar groups. Unfortunately these numbers seem to be looking quite true and very accurate. It is downright scary.
As OW swimmers we use the ocean as our training and competing arena and share it with these perfect animals, who have been around a lot longer than us and can sure swim better.
We need to all do our part to raise shark awareness however small it is. Sharks are the oceans top predators, therefore they shape they lead and shape entire eco-system and food chain of life in the planet's seas. 80% of all life on this planet is found in the ocean....
