Potomac by the Mustang chef

Ok, just swam it for about a mile back and forth under the Arlington Memorial Bridge with all the aircraft buzzin 700 feet over head. No wet suit of course...how could I after just reading, Swimming To Antarctica. I have to say with DC at 90 plus and a 119 humidity, jumping into the Potomac felt fantastic. The current was only noticable at times because of the Tidal basin effect. However , when swimming WITH the current I did notice it more. The water did not taste bad...but there was some stretches of water that had pockets of ...welll...poopy smell which brought about conservative strokes to prevent heavy breathing. Swimming under the Memorial Bridge with the hovering choppers and jets in landing pattern above made the experience seem surreal. I liked it. It is over 24 hours later...I did get a big gulp of water by mistake while *** stroking into the sun trying to get quardenants. I am not sick..yet. I hit a few sticks and saw some black globuals in the pale green water , but by no stretch of the imagination was it as bad as the Hudson river swim I had last year off Manhattan. Check you later alligator.:outtahere:
