I hate lifting weights, but as I am approaching 50 years I am begrudgingly accepting the fact that I might need to start doing it to supplement my training. Any advice on a short but beneficial weight routine for an open water swimmer?

After watching what Jason did in the Olympics, I don't think you can go wrong with this.

It is designed "for sprinters" but I think if any swimmer does these exercises to some degree you will see improvement.
