swimmingthechannel.blogspot.com/Just back from Folkestone England, where my daughter successfully swam the channel in 10 hrs and 34 minutes. Her training partner, Clara Bennett then completed her swim at 11 hours and 12 minutes, less than 48 hours later. Their blog is here.. But whatever you do, dont miss Luciano's Italian Resturant in Folkestone!!! Locted a block and a half from the Beach. On old High Road (I believe) our celebratory dinner (My wife, myself, Daughter Mallory and Calley) happened on to this restaurant. Within 10 minutes of arriving, we knew we were in for a royal treat. Mr. Luciano and his wife, hovered over us, shared stories with us for about 2 hrs. The food supurb! the company the best! The evening ended with the four of us, Mr and Mrs Luciano, and the other couple dinning in the restaurant, taking photos, laughing, shaking hands, laughing somemore, my favorite memory of the trip. do yourself a favor, and make the effort.
Hooray!
Your daughter's achievement was kindly noted by another in a thread I started (in the wrong place, Swimming-Related), "English Channel Swims." (It's noted in the following thread in post 5, by Old Navy:)

I'd love to hear every single detail! I think I read your (or your wife's) blog in the middle of the night, but do tell about the dolphins and other critters, ships passing in the night, what kind of nutrition -- each particle of it!
Many, many congratulations to DD and family for pulling together and stroking - did you figure it out? - 46,000 strokes?
:applaud:

(P.S. Is DD a USMS swimmer, so she joins that illustrious list too? )
