i swam at coney island yesterday. there were definitely a lot of jellyfish for this time of year, but i don't react too badly to the variety we have around here..... some of my buddies get welts that last for days.
so to summarize my season: jellies in july, lampreys in august, rag weed in september, amoebas in october.....think i'll roll around in some poison ivy to round things off.
Most stings for me go away within the hour. Some left scaring that has lasted for months though. All depends. They don't bother me much and can handle a few times. However, if I see them clustered everywhere along the shore and in the water, forget it! Everyone is different on how they react.
