Any ideas for what to wear to a 25K?
Here's what I've got so far -
Standard drag/ practice suit - provides zero lift and actually adds drag; not good for 25K; although probably most comfortable; will get the most sun exposure from this suit which is not good
FSPRO - I saw guys wear this on a 10K; however, I'm concerned about it falling apart in a 25K; Speedo claims it's good for 5 swims so I would prefer to not worry about being naked at the prom
FSII Kneeskin - Leaning towards this; provides some lift; is rather comfortable; was great for a 10K and left no skin wounds; no issues whatsoever
blueseventy - 10K? Anyone try this thing out during 10K ow swims or longer? Will I be able to stand having this thing on for 25K? I *think* it would provide the most lift by far which could be great for 6.5+ hours; it is black - I hope it's not too hot - weather could be warm or cool. . .
LZR - can't get my hands on one; expensive; seems to split open or malfunction at times; not really built for OW
Kristina,
IF you already have a blueseventy, I’d suggest you try it out at the Georgia State Games open water, July 12th in Lake Peachtree (please forgive my shameless plug) Swimming the 5K, 3K and 1K events would give you a great opportunity to give it a go.
I think the blueseventy is more buoyant than the FSII and this is a factor in long fresh water swims. If you don’t have one, then just come on down with your FSII!
