Hi all,
I'm fortunate to soon take off from Boulder Colorado on a 5 wk long motorcycle adventure, eventually ending up in the Boundary Waters where I can canoe and swim to my heart's content. I'd appreciate any information about lakes in beautiful places anywhere more or less between here and northern Mn.
As far as I can tell, risk managers in Colorado all agree to bar people from swimming in lakes unless it's within a designated area or the occassional, supervised open water swim. Like a lot of others I sneak onto lakes here a little before sunrise hoping not to get caught.....if you're reading this you know the problem. Anyway, if you know of lakes where one can just swim and swim without care, please let me know. And, if you're part of an open water swim club and would welcome a visit that would be great too. Thanks! Louis Krupnick
I am not sure how legal it is, but you will be lucky to find people in the Boundry waters Canoe area, and I would be shocked if anyone would care if you swam in there. I have swum in the BWCA and people don't even look at you funny if they see you.
