  • Wow, 6 miles in 1 hour 23 minutes? Must have been a really nice following current.

I think I read on the site that they predicted that the current would be in the 3+ knot range. Apparently they were right. I did the Little Red Lighthouse swim (in 2002, back when it was about 8 miles) with a 2-ish knot current. It was really fun to watch the city zoom by. What wasn't fun was trying to get into the finish area as the current was blasting you downstream. I barely made it. Something like 10% of the field got pushed past the finish and had to be fished out. -LBJ

Hi, Leonard I didn't see you at the Little Red Lighthouse swim this last weekend - did you enter? See you at the Y. Regards, Wes Bruckno
  • Beware water world swim events--expensive and they don't give earned awards. I won swim around the rock in 07 and despite numerous emails, no award. You would think for the price they charge, they could make it happen (all I got was some sad story about not being happy with the awards and they were working on redoing them).:shakeshead: www.swimaroundtherock.com/results.html cbs5.com/.../

Hi, Leonard I didn't see you at the Little Red Lighthouse swim this last weekend - did you enter? See you at the Y. Regards, Wes Bruckno Hi Wes - Unfortunately I didn't get the chance. Too many "issues" to be dealt with. Looks like you had a good one. "September Splash" tomorrow in Wildwood Crest, NJ, if you are up for it. I won't make that either (the "issues") but there is another thread here with a link to the entry if you are interested. See you at the Y. -LBJ
