I'm swimming an open water 3k in about 3 1/2 weeks. My swimming has peaked out at about 43-4500 yards 4 times per week. Being fairly inexperienced in open water, how should I taper for this? I plan on a few more hard workouts (broken 1650's and such) and another long straight swim. Additionally I'll be in St. John in one week so I'll definitely be getting in open water swims but I'm just not sure how much/long and how hard I should be going in open water and when I get back in the pool that last week. Thanks in advance, I've enjoyed reading workouts and advice.
