Hey Guys,
I wanted to spread the word about a buddy of mine who is swimming the Catalina Channel. There's an article about him on the Endurance News Network:

Thoughts?

I'm not sure about an activity that involves putting on 40-50 pounds of fat. There is something strange about doing something unhealthy to raise awareness of an unrelated medical condition.
Crazy. I would never survive the water temp with no wetsuit for that long. Gaining 40-50 lbs is a LOT. To gain that much weight while folowing his outlined training routine he would probably need to eat even more calories. And 6500 cals a day is a LOT. A good chunk of that intake must be liquid weight gain shakes, that much in solid meal food would be tough with any kind of a schedule other than eating/training.
I wish him luck in his Channel Challenge. Keep us posted!
