Have participated in this event twice. If you haven't made it to bonaire to do this swim, you owe it to yourself to get in it this year. It is the consumate aquatic adventure for swimmers, I believe.

I am seriously planning to do this swim, it'll be my first organized OW swim. I've only read great things about it. Looking forward to it!
Well, barring any unexpected financial setbacks I have my airfare banked. I am (so far...) coming down solo for this swim, does anyone know if there are others looking to share rooms, etc.? I am planning to come for approx. 4 days and 3 nights; Thurs. to the Sunday.
Anyone who has done this swim before know what it may cost, ballpark figure? Flight, room, food, misc. expenses. I will be flying in from Toronto.
.....6 weeks and counting!

A HUGE thank you to Randy and everyone involved in the 2008 Bonaire EcoSwim. This was my first OW race and I loved it. I did the 5k and my time was 1 hour, 22 mins. A beautiful island, awesome reef and marine life, great bunch of people, and the race was incredible. I really hope to be back again next year.
Here is a photo looking north from Sand Dollar Condos towards Captain Don's Habitat, where the race starts and finishes.
