I signed up for my first open water swim, the Lowcountry Splash in Charleston SC. It is a 2.4 mile swim on May 31st. At this point I have been doing all of my swimming in the pool. will this hurt me leading up to the Splash? Adam

Adam Although it never hurts to get training in the open water, it isn't necessary - many people, myself included, have little access to open water outside of races. That said, keep in mind that it will be different, both physically and mentally. No turns, sighting, contact with other people, etc all combine to make it a very different experience. Stay relaxed, keep your cool and you'll be fine. -LBJ
