What do you all think? I'm looking for a suit to use for open water swimming in Central FL, temperate to warm temp waters. I've looked at a trisuit (Orca), a shorty, and a John. Any opinions??
Thanks,

As a Floridian needing a wetsuit, I went for the sleeveless-Long John.
You have a good chance of over-heating in Florida waters. Additionally, the sleeveless gives you a great range of motion and no fatigue from fighting your suit. Lastly, I am a very poor kicker so having added buoyancy on my legs and not my arms puts me in a better swimming position.
I have a Blueseventy, but that was it fit best. Checking the sizing charts will speed up the process. Each brand on carry a few sizes. So you have to find the one that matches your body type the best.
Training or racing?
For training most any suit will do, go for durability.
For racing in a swimsuit there are a number of “competition” suits that have been discussed at length on other forum threads. A good pool competition suit works well in open water.
If you are asking about racing wetsuits, then I’d suggest full body. Maximum buoyancy. And always try before you buy with wetsuits; breathing room and range of motion are key selection factors.
I am new to this so I don't know how great my advice/knowledge is but blueseventy seem to make great open water wetsuits and skins.
