Just a note--I've done this event a few times and while I like it, it can suffer from terrible communication issues.
Last year, it was rained out, but there was little to no communication with the swimmers--no message at Leisure Services, no note at the lake, etc. We stuck it out to see if it would happen Sunday morning, the day after scheduled, and again, there was no communication to let us know whether the race would happen or not.
Then, when it was rescheduled, it was for the same date as the Coney Island 5K in New York, which I know many swimmers were doing.
Frustrating! So, just be aware that this can be problematic.
