Hi!
In one of my threads someone mentioned something about the rules for a continuous swim, and a long distance swim...I was wondering if theres a book or a site or something that kinda lays out the rules regarding such swims?:dunno::rolleyes:

read the history of open water marathon swimming by tim johnson.
Depending on the governing body, rules for Long Distance and Open water swimming can be found at:
www.usms.org/.../part3.pdfwww.fina.org/.../openwater.phpwww.usaswimming.org/.../2006 Rules and Regulations W-O color cover.pdf (Part 7)
Since USMS, USA Swimming and FINA don’t maintain “official records” for long duration swims (e.g.24-hour swim) you won’t find any rules that talk about sleep and potty breaks. If you choose to stop for 10 minutes or 2 hours in a FINA 10K swim you are free to do so, however the clock keeps running.
