The Pennock Island Challenge has been set for August 6 2006. The Pennock challenge is a fundraising event for the American Diabetes Asscociation.
The swim features an 8 mile swim around Pennock Island located in the Alexander Archipellago (Tongass national forest). Southeast Alaska along with outstanding fishing, hiking, camping, boating and wildlife viewing is also an awsome place for Ocean swimming. Swimmers can enter the event as a member of a 2,3, or 4 member relay or as individual. Swimmers can expect water temps in the upper 50s, slight current assist, beautiful views and a great day on the water.

brrrrrr...................... Not for me :)
BTW Willie, do you happen to do any scuba diving, or know someone that does? Got roped into an August cruise, and figured I'd get a dive in while I was there.

Now why did you have to go and schedule it the same day as the tour of Buoys in San DIego and the Boston light Swim? Darn I'll never get to try it!
