I used to swim with a long distance swimmer in Ft. Myers Florida in the 70s by the name of Paul Asmuth. I started swimming again and just linked up with this site and thought I would float it out here.
Thanks for the responses, that's the area I had heard he moved to.
I remember one meet where he started the 1650 out last and negative split(each following 100 yards) that were faster than the previous. He started out last and smoked them all to win, it seemed he was just starting to hit his stride at the end of the race.
