I'm also new to the forum, and have been reading all the posts. I hope that whatever the problem is, it will be easily corrected. That story about your nephews had me LOL.
Having done only one ocean swim, a one mile event, I can't even imagine attempting a marathon swim distance. To say I'm impressed is an understatement. (And I'd be much more afraid of the pollution than the animal life). There will be other swims and other challenges. Good luck.
