Check out the new open water website at usopenwaterswimming.org/ So far it has a pretty good calendar of events and in the members section, a number of workouts geared to open water swimming.

I don't think I would like to do a polar swim in Alaska. The Hawaii polar swim in January sounds better.

The site looks great. I’m just wondering if the guy in the picture is jumping into the water for the polar swim or jumping out.
