Hi,
I am thinking of investing in a wetsuit. Any wisdom out there? What style is the best...long, short, sleeves, no sleeves. Where is the best place to find one? Does wearing a wetsuit significantly improve your time?
Last year I did the 1 mile swim in the Chesapeake Bay. Most people had wetsuits. The water temperature was 72 degrees, and I was not cold at all even though I did not have a wetsuit.
Any thoughts?

Who here thinks that was a big Maytag sale?
Thought I would never get consecutive smooth strokes, completely spastic feeling. And that water doesn't taste too good, either, through the nose or over the tongue.
On the other hand, what a great challenge and wonderfully well-run event. Incredible resources brought to bear for a few hours of personal struggle and fellowship. I swore off The Bay for 14 years after finishing in the miserable '91 but am looking forward to next year already.
Hope everyone else felt rewarded and fulfilled, too and comes back next year.
