Wetsuit wisdom?

Hi, I am thinking of investing in a wetsuit. Any wisdom out there? What style is the best...long, short, sleeves, no sleeves. Where is the best place to find one? Does wearing a wetsuit significantly improve your time? Last year I did the 1 mile swim in the Chesapeake Bay. Most people had wetsuits. The water temperature was 72 degrees, and I was not cold at all even though I did not have a wetsuit. Any thoughts? Swimmy :)

  • Thanks for the encouraging words. It was kind of crazy at the race. I thought about having the DJ call you over so we could meet... I went to UM and lived in College Park for many years,so I know the campus pool. Now I swim at a couple different Mo. county pools...Olney, MAC. I talked to someone who swims at Olney and she was trying to get me to join her club. Maybe... The water was much better on Sunday than the previous week. I did not feel cold. I think the wetsuit did not help my stroke. It might be too tight on my shoulders. I am still planning to wear it in the bay though, I think. Happy Swimming! Swimmy :)
