Just curious to know if anyone has raced in open water with a fastskin suit. If so, did they notice any difference (were you faster)?
I've never seen any information on how it helps in the open water.

I have worn speed suits in open water but not fastskin--I have been told that the hydrophobic qualities of fastskin is lost after about 15 or at most 20 minutes. I don't know if that is true but its worth looking into. I do know people who wear fastskin and think it helps.
One concern has to be chafing--places which are not a problem in fresh water or pool water can become a giant gaping sore after rubbing for 3 miles in salt water.
