I would suggest you touch base with Edward Gaw (edginc@att.net) about training at Fernandina Beach, just north east of Jacksonville. Edward is running the USMS National 5K Open Water on June 12th at Fernandina Beach, so I’m guessing he can get you hooked up for a training swim, at one of the nicest beaches on the Atlantic coast.
