Greetings Everyone,
Although we just received the OK from Alum Creek State Park and have yet to finalize the meet information, we are a GO for the first ever Columbus Open Water Swim (COWS) on June 20th from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
This event is being sponsored by Fat Rabbit Racing and a portion of the proceeds will go to the Central Ohio Swim Association to help develop a paid coaching circuit for inner city summer team swimming sponsored in conjunction with the Central Ohio Coaches Association.
Here's the tentative outline...
There will be a 0.5 mile swim for age-group swimmers (9-16 and awarded by age groups 9-10, 11-12 etc.) There will also be an Open 1.0 swim that will be awarded by age group (9 to whatever)
There will also be a, Open 2.0 swim that will be awarded by age group (13 to whatever) In the Open swims there will also be a wet-suit division although there will be no separation for awards in that division.
Entry fees are $20 for 1 event or $25 for 2 events and will include an event cap, t-shirt & post-race snacks.
We'll get the information to you ASAP. hopefully by Tuesday. We're also talking about having just one big party for the athletes with volleyball and all after the event. This will be a blast for the kids.
