New to swimming and love it!
Can anyone provide some workout advice for me? I've read stories of people on here losing weight during swimming season, or swimming to lose weight. I started swimming about a month ago and while I can see a difference in my appearance; the scale hasn't moved too much. My current swimming workout is to swim at least 1600m(only freestyle but use paddles and buoy on at least 400m) normally takes about 40 min and then would do about 30-45 min cardio. I just started incorporating the P90x workouts in before my swims(mainly just the chest/back and arms workouts) just to get off this plateau I feel like I'm on. Anyone have any other suggestions as far as swim workouts that I can do(other than swim harder and for a longer distance)? Had shoulder surgery in Dec so free is pretty much all that I can do right now.

My surgery was in December, I'm cleared to resume to 100% normal activities now. I definitely don't use the paddles much, and definitely still don't go all out. I will definitely check out the tips you mentioned though. I don't really isolate kicking at all right now, so I'll definitely check that out. Thanks!
