Yards to Short course meters (or even long course)

I know that there are sites/programs and maybe even tables out there for converting times from yards to meters. But do they work for everyone? last april I was able to swim a 200 yard pushing it hard but not max for a 2:03 which according to one site would mean I could swim roughly 2:17 at practice in a meters pool. today i pushed a 200 and hit the wall at 2:25 or so. I started thinking about it for the rest of practice and decided that my yards times are much faster than my meters time converted because my body type benefits greatly from taking 2-4 less strokes/length as well as getting that break on the turn earlier. anyone have recent times in yards and meters that could test any of the converting sites and see if they are even close. here's the one I use more often www.swimmingworldmagazine.com/.../conversions.asp

  • Rykno, your tag says: "(visit Waco Texas for vacation)" WHY WACO? there are plenty of places in TX that are WAY WAY WAY nicer than WACO, let me know what days you're in Texas and I'll help plan what to do, mainly don't spend much time in WACO like July 2011 South Central Zone Championships Long Course Meters July 23 - 24 not sure where they are yet Ande Why Waco, because my parents moved there in '95 and when spending 3-5 weeks in the US it's much cheaper to stay with them than to live in hotels and eat out ;) We plan on going up to Dallas, down to San Antonio, and if it's not too hot (over 100) I might take my oldest (6yrs) to NASA for a day trip. We can't book our tickets until our 3rd baby comes. Anytime now! Because my wife wants the baby to get it's first set of vaccinations before we travel and the midwives in Sweden suggest the earliest is 10 weeks. so I am crossing my fingers we can get over there for the 4th of July and stay until 15th of aug so I can watch the Denver vs Dallas game. as soon as a location is made known for Zones I would much rather make plans for that meet than the Summer Games of Texas
