OK, entries close tomorrow for Nationals in Mesa. Let's have a game to guess the attendance. Paul Smith mentioned a few days ago that entries had just gone over the 1,000 mark.
I'll guess 1,869.
Yes, relay swimmers have the same entry deadline as everyone else.
Well, it's a wrap! Entries are now closed. I suspect we'll hear the final tally in a couple days. Personally I'd be very surprised if the total is less than 1,500. There's always a big surge in entries the final day or two.
As with most PNA meets...speaking of which...Kirk, are you ever going to get entered into the PNA Champs??? Or are you waiting to see if you can be the last online entry into the meet??? :bed:
i'd love to be back in the states during one of the nationals. I can't seem to put my head around how big of a meet it is.
we just had our swedish nationals. 4 sessions friday afternoon through sunday morning. 34 events including 6 relays (2 of which are mixed). so only 14 individual events for each sex.
we had 563 swimmers (not including relays only swimmers) and 2143 starts. the US nationals looks like it will have almost as many people as we had starts... WOW
but we did have two WRs. SCM

I just got the first nationals email newsletter and they claim "over 1800." as does the meet website

No conspiracy theories necessary. The problem entries are the fractions. You know, like if something crazy happened like Jazz Hands in the 1650. Wait, that actually happened... um... ok how about Paul Smith in the 1000? No... that happened too... ummmm... I guess this means that Jeff Commings entered the 200 fly and crashed the server!
